Usage

DRK10-A Bauer Sieve Tester (Bauer Fiber Sieve Tester) is an instrument for pulp and paper laboratory to determine the weight average fiber length of pulp fiber by sieving method. This instrument conforms to the sieving test method stipulated in GB/T 2678.1-1993, and also conforms to the sieving test method stipulated in TAPPI T233cm-95, and meets the test method of Nordic SCAN M6 (10g sample, water flow 15min, flow rate 10L/min). The instrument can also be used to measure the proportion of different fibers in the pulp.

Sieving principle

This bauer sieving instrument consists of 5 flat cylinders, about 355mm deep, 127mm wide and 320mm long. The sides of the cylinders are semi-cylindrical and each cylinder is equipped with a screen of about 335cm2.

The four cylinders are mounted on a frame mechanism, one lower than the other, in a stepped tandem arrangement. Each cylinder is fitted with a vertical cylindrical agitator with short blades (cylinders with vertical flutes) near the semi-circular side, with a speed of 580n/min, driven by four vertical motors. The slurry in each cylinder rotates horizontally around the cylinder and flows into the center guide plate, through a narrow slit in the guide plate and through the screen. Each screen outlet has an overflow weir plate and a short curved section of plate to divert the overflow slurry to the next tube with a finer screen, and the last tube to the gutter.

The screen frame in each cylinder can be removed and cleaned, or the screen number (mesh) can be replaced, by loosening the plywood bolts on the cylinder plate.

Structural characteristics

This type fiber sieving instrument is composed of gear motor, agitator, water tank part, frame, combination switch, timer, flow meter and other parts.

The water tank is the main mechanism of the machine, and the agitator is mainly used to make the fibers fully diffuse in the water and make directional movement to pass through the sieve mesh in parallel for sorting. The sieve plate prevents water and fiber from rushing vertically to the sieve, and the sieve is mainly used to classify the fiber.
